Calvin is a Black/African American Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), and has been in the field of mental health and social work for the past 8 years and licensed by the state of California since 2018. Calvin worked at the University of Southern California’s (USC) Department of Public Safety. It was this public service that inspired him to work in the human services field. Calvin began pursuing his Master of Social Work (MSW) during his employment, and later graduated from the University of Southern California in 2015. Calvin later started exclusive private practice and has an office located in Long Beach / Bixby Knolls, where he is able to offer both in-person and virtual appointments. Calvin has a plethora of skills and formal training that includes elements of Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Solutions-Focused Therapy. Calvin is a change agent and meets the client “where they are” to assist in navigating and mitigating life stressors and issues.
